Write a Review for ACTS
http://tinyurl.com/ACTSreviews
Hi all you fans of ACTS,
We have a listing on the Go City Kids website...I think we get a bit higher of a listing based on reviews.
Could you please take a minute to write something nice about ACTS, be sure to assign stars!
Paste the link above into your web browser and it will take you right to the page.
Feel free to encourage others to do the same.
Thanks,
Mary Adrian
Kind Words
Sharon,
First I want to say what a God send you and ACTS are to our family! I feel very strongly that you are the expert in your field. I would not ask my mechanic to fix me a sandwich, nor would I teach acting to my child when I am clearly not gifted in that area.
As a homeschooler, we are always seeking avenues for our children to grow in their gifted areas. I feel confident I have found that in you and the entire crew at ACTS.
Please enjoy the Christmas season, and know we appreciate you and Cindy, and your families for the time and effort you put into this, it is truly a labor of love I see it in you!!
Love, and blessings,
Lori
From Fr. Patrick Dorn:
Beginning January 1, 2010, THE TROUPE, Denver's Christian Community Theatre will become part of Colorado ACTS, providing us with greater administrative and technical support. Our name is likely to change as well. I've joined the board of directors of Colorado ACTS, a large and successful Christian-run theatre school that is taking THE TROUPE under its wing, and believe our opportunities to reach out into the community will be greatly enhanced by this development. More on this later!
Meanwhile...
This e-mail account at thetroupe@gmail.com, and THE TROUPE blog at www.thetroupetheatre.blogspot.comwill be discontinued at the end of this year.
Please send theatre review and play publishing e-mails to: patrickrdorn@yahoo.com
Please send church and personal e-mails to me at pdorn@pobox.com
My theatre reviews are now posted at www.playwrightpriest.blogspot.com
My new playwright-priest web site may be found at http://home.comcast.net/~prdorn/site/
Check out the Colorado ACTS web site at www.coloradoacts.org
Please update your address books and contacts accordingly. Thank you!

Arvada Harvest Parade was great fun
SPECIAL THANKS TO:
Mr. Coates for the Trailer, Tinker's parking space, a lovely white gazebo with flowers and Fourth of July decorations that was designed by Susan and Cindy and put together by a bunch of us,
2000 paper napkin flowers(that is 6 THOUSAND sheets of tissue) cut, wired and fluffed by another bunch of people, all screwed together so nothing came off by Santiago, 30 people who sang “Pick a Little” and “Iowa Stubborn” (with choreography) under Marianne’s supervision a total of 64 times during the parade, a giant boom box furnished by Lohrs, 4 walking sandwich boards, a group of kids under Lauriel’s supervision who gave out 600 pieces of candy that all had our school info printed on them, and Nelicia’s delightful blue rendition of the Statue of Liberty…and especially to the Lord who held the rain off until after the parade.
We had a great, fun time and were seen by less than 20,000 spectators who all seemed especially appreciative of our smiling, singing, Music Man faces.
A Big Smoochy Thanks to:

Denver-based Christian video production company
I am working with a new video production company called The Potter's Wheel productions (see the site below). We are looking for actors and camera people to help with a new project focusing on the problem of babies being shaken. We are developing a music video for a song that was written addressing the problem.
Do you know of anyone who would be willing to help with our project? We're just starting out and cannot pay anyone. But we will be happy to supply pizza and a free copy of the video for the portfolio of anyone willing to help!!
Thanks in advance,
Mildred

ACTS Scrip Program
If you would like to receive a reduced tuition or even pay off your ACTS tuition, the Scrip program can help you.
If you’re wondering what scrip is, let me explain. Scrip is a fancy word for Gift Certificates. Colorado ACTS purchases Gift Certificates at a discount so when you purchase them at face value you get the savings put towards your ACTS account.
For example, we have $25 King Sooper gift certificates that we purchased at a 5% discount for $23.75 so when we sell them to you for $25 the $1.25 is put towards your children’s tuition. We have many different types of certificates:
King Sooper – Earning 5%.
Vitamin Cottage - Earning 5%.
Sunflower Farmers Market - http://www.sfmarkets.com. Earning 5%.
Safeway – Earning 4%.
Barbes and Noble – Earning 10%.
GL scrip – We order from many different retailers the first Monday of every month (see below link for the list). http://www.glscrip.com/report/productlistreport.aspx?nogroup=1&Format=pdf&Extension=pdf The list shows the retailers available, the face value, and the percentage earned.
Wait! You think you know all about scrip? Did you know some of the cards are reloadable? The following scrip are reloadable so the only time you need to see your scrip coordinator is for the initial delivery: King Soopers, AMC Theatres, B. Dalton Booksellers, Banana Republic, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, AMC Entertainment, CVS/pharmacy, Exxon, Game Crazy, Gap, Hollywood Video, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Mobil, Old Navy, Papa John’s, and Starbucks What is scrip? Scrip is a fancy word for Gift Certificates. Colorado ACTS purchases Gift Certificates at a discount so when you purchase them at face value you get the savings put towards your ACTS account or towards the general scholarship program.
Don’t have a child in ACTS? Scrip can be Tax Deductible if the earnings are donated to ACTS and is not directly applied to your student’s tuition.
If you would like to buy some scrip or you would like to find out more, contact Danette Salazar at (303) 969-5422 or nettiesalazar@yahoo.com.

Tiffany Meese Voice Lessons
Tiffany Meese has joined the ACTS community by way of China (Curtiss) Kent, and we are enjoying her greatly. Below is her bio.
I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a BA in psychology and a minor in music. I have been studying voice for 12 years and have been teaching private voice for 2 years. I also had the privilege of music directing By the Beautiful Sea this past summer with Colorado Acts. I have performed in numerous musicals such as The King and I and Oliver! and have performed in various choirs and vocal ensembles over the years. I am currently teaching private voice lessons, teaching group keyboarding classes to young children, teaching a master voice class at YWAM school of music, and am singing background vocals in a local Denver band.
If you are interested in voice lessons for yourself or your child please contact me at (720) 270-1413 for more information. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Thanks!

Kids' Pages Family's New Exciting, 2.0 Interactive Online
Community for Parents
This fall the magazine for which I have been a staff writer for three years has gone to an online only e-zine format. A little sad since you can no longer sit down on the couch with a cup of coffee to read it but on the other hand the website is pretty fun. I wanted to send you all the link so you can get signed up if you have enjoyed Kid's Pages in the past--now you still can. This month I wrote the feature article "Goodbye to Shy" about kids in theatre and I talked about the Nowak children (without using thier names as requested Debbie! But I did use yours!). Also the Academic Answers column which I will do every few months and the Family Table recipe Column which is my very own as you will note by the extrememly unflattering picture of me with a wooden spoon. Please stop by the recipe column and leave me a fun comment or share a favorite recipe of your own!
Blessings,
Kristi
