STATE OF THE SCHOOL
Well, we knew when we moved in the fall that the situation at Two Roads (HOPE) was not an ideal place for ACTS to call home. There were concerns about storage and the performance venue and as always the “sharing of space”. However, as we began to settle in we increasingly realized that there were not just concerns but problems which were effecting our ability to offer classes and shows and in turn our ability to pay our bills. The problems became larger and we concluded that the partnership was not going to be successful as it was originally hoped. With that in mind, the board decided to look for another space and we are very pleased to announce that we are moving.
WHERE HAVE YOU HEARD THOSE WORDS BEFORE?!!!!
The Legal papers are still in progress (oh my goodness these things move slowly!) Your next thoughts, no doubt, are “What are they thinking?!!” Well we are thinking that we love doing what God has called us to. Specifically teaching theatre to children and making it available at reasonable cost to the community. We feel strongly that God is continuing to put His hand of Blessing on us. He has reminded us (very clearly) that we are not a business, but a ministry. We are required to behave financially responsibly, but our goal is not to make money but to live a life of ministry. So we are thinking that this is a good place for us to settle and fulfill our mission. We hope/expect/pray that the final details will be worked out in the next few days and that we can announce the new location and begin to remodel and move.
So, what can you do to support us?
- We plan to be moving from Dec 15-30, so if you have time during the holidays (or after), please call. The physical moving is hard on a few bodies, but easy for the larger group.
- We are remodeling the space with mostly volunteer help, again, many hands (even the ones who don’t know what they are doing) are valuable.
- You can make a donation to help with the moving/building expenses.
- You can make sure that your bill is paid. Outstanding debt is a problem that we could live without.
- Come see a show, even ones that you don’t have family in, and bring a friend. We always offer good entertainment.
- Most importantly, continue to lift us up in prayer. It is not the “least you can do”. It is the most appreciated gift you can give us.

Special Thanks to Havilah Davis for the fundraiser at My Pie (on 43rd & Wadsworth). We raised $456.33 and had a great time.
We are always looking for fundraising ideas…let us know about any opportunities.
Extra Special Thanks to Pinebrook Community Church at 80th and Simms for all their support of the school, they are allowing us to meet classes there during our transition time and have blessed us with their complete generosity. We have seen God in them reaching out to us.
